Batang 90's Idol Romnick Sarmenta Reveals The Reason Why He Left Showbiz Industry.

Long before the advent of this generation’s popular love teams such as JaDine, KathNiel, and JoshLia, there was the celebrity tandem composed of Romnick Sarmenta and Sheryl Cruz. This classic love team was one of the first showbiz pairings to elicit major kilig vibes from fans.
While the onscreen romance did not materialize in real life, Romnick Sarmenta eventually found true love in the form of Harlene Bautista. The two celebrity love birds tied the knot in 1999, after which they both chose to leave the limelight to focus on starting a family.
Romnick shared in an interview with ABS-CBN PUSH:
“Kami kasi ni Harlene, ayaw kasi namin ‘yung feeling na pagka-may kailangan ‘yung anak mo or may sakit or may masakit sa anak mo, tumatakbo sa yaya. Gusto namin sa amin tumatakbo eh so nagdecide kami.”

Romnick stated:
“Sabi namin konting panahon lang kasi ang mga bata. I mean lahat ng magulang siguro maiisip ‘to. Up to a certain time, lalayo at lalayo sila sa’yo. Magtatayo sila ng sarili nilang pamilya. And they only have a number of years para maenjoy mo ‘yung company nila and hopefully, mabuild mo ‘yung character nila.”

Today, the celebrity couple are now successful entrepreneurs, owning and managing a restaurant in Quezon City called “Salu.” Although they are busy fulfilling their responsibilities as business owners, they still ensure that they don’t fall short in fulfilling their responsibilities as parents first and foremost.

Romnick said:
“We can always have time for our own plans pero ‘yung mga bata na ipinagkatiwala sa’tin ng mga Diyos, kailangan nandoon tayo while they’re growing up.”
