According to the story that was posted on the Facebook page of ‘Hugot101’ a 22-year-old Muslim man in North Cotabato, Philippines tied the knot with his two lovers aged 20 and 24 just because he had a hard time choosing which one he should marry.
The viral story post stated that the Muslim man who was identified as the 22-year-old Razul Timbukong tied the knot with Jarah Mendoza Labangin, 20 and Thelma Guipal, 24 because of their real life ‘torn between two lovers’ story. Reports stated that he was asked to choose between Thelma and Jarah but since he had a hard time, he ended up marrying both.
The story that was posted on Facebook also stated that the original plan was for the Muslim man to marry Jarah alone, but as they were preparing for the wedding, Thelma came and revealed that Razul also promised her a wedding and if he refuses to marry her, he will be forced to pay P120,000. But because Razul had already spent too much for the ‘pamamanhikan’ and the preparations of the wedding, the families of the two ladies agreed to let the three of them tie the knot in a single ceremony.
The viral post stated that after their wedding, they lived in Sampao Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat. However, one of them already left and worked abroad.
Since then, the post has garnered a total of 30k reactions and more than 23k shares! Apart from that, the post also gained different comments from the netizens who called the man their ‘idol’ for having two wives.
Meanwhile, under the Islamic marital jurisprudence, Muslim men are allowed to practice polygyny, meaning, they can have more than one wife at the same time up to a total of four. However, Polyandry, the practice of a woman having more than one husband is not permitted.
